Large-scale landscape painting
In September 2001, smartart was commissioned to conceive designs for murals on slab. The client was the project development Schlüter from Mariental. The settlement to be processed in demes in Schwerin was rather neglected and required substantial restructuring measures. But not only again to redevelop another plate block, with the success of the reluctance of the population, they were very keen to create the monotony of this design in the form of large-format images remedy. The village stands on its own in a wooded area, so was the motif selection on landscapes, similar to the environment, please.
The individual blocks were gradually rehabilitated; 'just in time' applied the murals in coordination with the commissioned painting companies and scaffolders. Soon after the first block was done, the accuracy of the idea became apparent.
Because the settlement was suddenly as' artists' village 'or' images settlement 'on everyone's lips. It paid very soon to be out of the 'Talk of the Town', because: 'who does not want to live where the pretty pictures on the wall are?' The bottom line is a strongly increased interest of the population in an otherwise rather insignificant block of flats. Substituting the showmanship and the increased image with the additional costs in relation, one can imagine a better price / performance ratio is hard. The costs were approximately 0.7% of the total cost.
